I missed the one good day yesterday at Alameda in four months and got suckered into going today and I ended up just mowing the lawn.....
See you there next on a winter storm and not a day sooner!

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Yesterday's numbers got me hoping for a repeat and I was optimistic. I miss the Spring kiting that we had there earlier in the year. 8m and 10m epic kiting!!!

Yesterday might as well been a storm day as the wind was up and down, holey, gusty.... very storm like. But one of the best days we've had in a while.
About 7:15 the wind started to die and just about everyone came in. As I was packing up, the wind started to pick up again, Dave C and Greg showed up with the new 06 Slingshot kites, the Fuel and the Octane and were kind enough to let me have a go on the new Fuel (15M). I only had about 10 minutes on it, but it's by far the smoothest, fastest kite (for it's size) that I've ever flown. It was much faster turning and flying than my 12M Best Nemesis. Less bar pressure too! In one tack, I felt totally comfortable with this kite, except for the jumping, which I didn't quite have the timing down.
After demoing a few kites in the last couple weeks (Raven, Torch, Vegas), this is by far the best kite I've tried. I also want to try the Octane, but I am serioulsy considering getting a Fuel for next year.

Al,
Sounds encouraging! I know may people were disappointed by the fact that there were no changes in the Fuel's for 2005, so it souonds like they're on it this time. Looking forward to seeing them.

I've been sailing on the bay for almost 30 years in all kinds of boats, sailboards, and now kiteboards.
When a gale warning is predicted, the bay is glassy nine times out of ten.
I never understood how they can get it so wrong.

Isnt that the damn truth! The predictions are probably for outside the gate a bit.
