Speaking of SI, I hope the folks who teach kiteboarding there are paying attention, because at most county/state/federal parks you need to have a concession at minimum to run a business out of a park, which equals paying rent to the authorities. I believe the situation at SI park is a little more free form (emphasis on the word "free") than that.

Some parks official up in Sacto County is going to visit SI on some holiday weekend, and they are going to have visions of dollars dancing in their heads.

Somebody should get us a list of addresses so we can all write to the powers that be about this travesty.

People, if we don't speak up, we've either accepted this behavior or lowered our standards.
This is an address list, in my suggested order of likelihood of impacting the ludicrious behavior of this unaccountable Park Police force wasting referendum money appealed for in a panic campaign last year.

Sylvia has already written letters to the Governor of California and the Mayor of Alameda expressing her anger.

That is only one voice. Only if others follow will bureaucracy take action..

don't forget guys. The park is not funded by the city of Alameda, It's a regional park. That's all of our tax dollars at work.

Perhaps this one:

KRON4 - the Bay area News/TV station. They like to dig into strange events and are asking people to submit stories. This one here was probably strange enough and needs some investigation I would think.

I am writing to them right now.

A great week to all water and wind lovers! - Sylvia

I somehow feel that it might be best to let this whole thing blow over. Notifying a bunch of people about this arrest is just going to bring ever more attention to Alameda.
I wonder who made the call about the jetski, that is who I would blame for all this commotion. Instead of making that call, people could have just talked this thing out, asking the jetski to go farther (the approved distance) from shore. Seems like the fact that he was on a jetski so close to shore was what called all the commotion, not that he was teaching on public land.
Any jetskiers know the legal distance they must stay from shore?
geez.

Sorry guest,
That's not why he was arrested. It's not a jetski issue, it's one company trying to monopolize the beach. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last time.
