Any of you know of a place near 3rd Ave - San Mateo offering FREE wi-fi? Someone I know

wants to be able to check/send e-mail before & after kite sessions so that his boss thinks he's at work.

There is a branch library on E. Hillsdale with free wi-fi. It was't too stable the last time I was there, but that may be resolved by now.
Another library branch, with very good free wireless ... but farther away ... get on 101 south, get o E. Hillsdale ... 1100 Park Pl San Mateo, CA, this appears to be a temporary location until the new main library is open.
If you are within the first 6 months of having yahooDSL at home, you can use your logon free at the Barnes and Noble at e. hillsdale and El Camino.
Verizon has a slow solution through the cell phone that works at 3rd for 30 or 40 bucks for a wire and software, which simply uses minutes.
Of course the Starbucks has T-mobile hotspot for pay.
there may be others as well, got a wi-fi seeker? (hint hint)
