The proposed water access looks problematic for kite-boarding but OK for windsurfing.
The proposed Burlingame Park proposed conceptional plans need to include better accommodation for non motorized water access activities. Specifically kite-boarding, the currently proposed water access at need small point only may work for Stand up paddle boards and windsurfers. But I see it very problematic for kite-boarding access and safety.
We require a larger water access point or several access point along the shoreline. Ideally a broad sandy beach without surrounding rip-rap rock shoreline.
We need also a land side/launch/landing are to safely rig out the kite lines and launch and land. We can not have obstacles like trees in the way I see depicted on the proposed plan close by the water access. This land side area needs to be at a minimum of a 300 foot circle clear of all obstructions with soft surface(lawn). And a safe path to walk to the water clear of obstacle while having the kite in the air. The shoreline is oriented approximately 250/070 degrees true north (SW).... predominate winds at SFO are WNW, which puts the predominate wind directly onshore!
Given the tendency for the wind to shift West VS North, starting out on port tack is the likely scenario!
