sorry to hear about this.

Re radio, I assume you mean a handheld vhf marine radio? The earlier link was ship to shore, so clearly not something you'll bring out kiting.

I've started bringing one dinghy sailing, I didnt used to when kiting, but I will now.

Here is the one I just got, my second, and it is much better. dont bother with Uniden crap

I have this very marine radio in my pouch... always. For others and myself
