Saw a few of these while I was out riding the breaks of the Dominican Republic, and after I did some reading on it sort of fell in love with the description... I'm learning to ride strapless surfboards right now because I want to learn to foil eventually, but as much as I love throwing a good surf-slash, I really miss boosting. For my chop/wave sessions it seems like it could be a ton of fun, almost looks like I could put some of my snowboard expertise to use doing slashes and spins...

I know a lot of you have them, anybody want to weigh in on their opinions and let me know where I could demo one, or even better possibly take a cruise on yours? :)

I'm 6'3/185 and usually fly a 12m Park, and normally ride a Liquid Force LFX 138 (which I like because it's a little softer and has a round-ish tail), would probably be eyeing the 150..

where do you ride? you're welcome to try my Mako 140, and/or Mako Duke. I love both boards. The Mako 140 is a great board for 3rd ave chop and channel swell. It's also a good travel board thanks to the versatility. Boosting technique is a little different though... I've found it's a bit hard to "load and pop" due to the rounded edges and single fin. BUT, riding powered and using the chop/swell as a kicker can make it a great booster:)

The Mako Duke is an awesome board for the cost. Super fun, playful, and goes up wind soooo well. Which you typically don't think about at the coast, but the faster you can go upwind, the more waves you can ride:)

Awesome! Sounds like that kind of confirms what I've been reading. I normally ride OB, Sherman, or 3rd. Today looks like we're skunked on the wind, but I'd be down to link up sometime and give it a try!

I really liked my 2010 Mako King. I had it set up as a directional and would ride it strapless. I cracked it a few seasons ago and want to get another. They changed the construction to wood core a few years ago. It is great for chop and rides smooth. My knees miss it.
