I'm on a business trip from the Midwest and have all my kite gear packed besides my board. I've been itching to get out ever since my new iob placed me in a location without much water... hence why I sacrificed the majority of my baggage to pack my gear! I'll be sad if I don't at least pump up the kite and fly it for a bit.

Are there any particular areas I should check out?! Anyone want to meet up? I'm looking to go 11/6 or 7th.

I'm a recent UW-Madison grad now working as an engineer. Much of my riding has been up on Lake Superior and on the frozen tundra in the winter. I'd love to meet some new riders!

The season is pretty much over now, especially for beginners.

It's more or less March thru October. The experts might get in a few more sessions over the fall and winter, but wind conditions tend to be trickier and less reliable.

During the winter season by the time online wind alerts comes and you head to the beach its usually too late. Early bird gets the wind.

Winter riding is about being there at the right time and at the right spot.
One spot can blow an hour and then another spot can blow the next. Really local wind.

If you do show up at a beach and do not see someone rigging or kiting, there is a reason. Look and watch the locals, do not go out alone at a beach you have never been to off season.
