It was a good session with an interesting view of a fire helicopter and plane trying to put out a fire on the hill side.

Hey, your'e jumps are looking good! That first one had some real hang time. The pressure is on drroc, however I've been out for the last several weeks due to a rib injury from kiting. Hope to get out soon.

Hi Roman, finally got some wind and some footage:

A lot of changes video-wise. Vimeo and FB's immediately take down any video's with copyrighted music, assuming that Youtube is the same. Ended up purchasing a music clip from directly from Vimeo. Let me know if you have found a work around.

GoPro Studio generates several versions of each clip you film, only one, the MP4, is used when you go to edit. One is designed to stream on your smartphone, and the other i believe is for still images. That totally threw me for awhile.https://gopro.com/support/articles/what ... -lrv-files

Still experiencing a massive degeneration of video quality when i upload video to Vimeo or Youtube. A note keeps popping up, which is to film at 30fps. will have to try that next time to see if that improves the video quality.

You decided to go to a strapped board for jumps? :)

How does the board compare to the Vanguard?

I also noticed that Vimeo now has an aggressive copyright detection mechanism. I believe that on youtube you can have any music that you like, but the video can only be played on the youtube site. You will not be able to play an embedded link.

Nice video. Shows that the line mount is the way to go ... helmet mount POV flattens everything out too much ... kite mount is too far away ... line is just right.

Music....it used to be that vimeo was the place to avoid copyright hassles. On youtube, you can often use copyrighted music, but certain holders will make it unplayable -- often in Germany, but sometimes worldwide. And then you get the nasty warning notes from youtube. I have started just using the youtube free music ... endless lists of generic instrumental background tunes.

That is my Tyrant, which I have had for awhile. I pull that out whenever I get frustrated by getting pulled off the Vanguard or if the waves are huge. The Tyrant is a big wave board, tracks beautifully, and a totally different ride than the Vanguard. The Vanguard is so much more flowy, allowing for tighter turns, and it has dramatically upped my surf skills. I feel like I am able to get more out of the Tyrant now thanks to what I have learned from riding the Vanguard.

I believe the "workaround" for the music thing is when they delete your video on vimeo and youtube, the next "window" asks if you dispute the deletion. Just say yes, and then Vimeo will repost your video with the copyrighted music track on their site while they take forever to figure out what to do. It doesn't seem like they ever follow-up. I guess the copyright guys are only interested if you are monetizing the video, and in that case they want their cut.

Next issue happens when you upload it to FB, which I guess you just go through the same song and dance. I don't think that you would have an issue uploading it to BAK.

Thanks Juan. Camrig line mount is the way to go. It's drone footage w/o the drone. Someone is working on a "gimbal" for the line mount set-up:
