Surfboard duck tack vs vanilla tack

Howdy - I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on if there are any differences in effectiveness of a duck tack vs a regular tack (no spin).

If by effectiveness you mean cooler then the duck tack is the clear winner since it looks more bad ass :-)
If you mean which one allows you to stay more upwind, I think it's a toss up and comes down to your execution, although the duck tuck may hold a slight advantage since you have to take that step forward with your back foot and rotate, which allows you to drive the board further into the wind.
