After some fun on TT decided to try strapless first time at our waves today, a bit different than on TT to get over white water.
Anyway, had fun until accidentally triggered flag out, just as I reattached safety and was relaunching it, big wave got me up, lines slacked and kite inverted. Ejected and had long swim back.

Want to say big THANK YOU to the kiter who rode with my board and left it on shore exactly as I was able to touch the bottom! He headed out and I was not able to thank him :(

P.S. jumping dolphin freaked me out, first time I've seen such action just 10ft in front of me.

Oh, just educated myself on the whitey vs dolphin fin differences as I mostly seen spine only (e.g. not the whole thing jumped, just body emerge mostly and went down, but I've not seen head) and looks like it was whitey, in front of me. Ffs.

Glad I could help - yesterday was a big day to try riding strapless for the first time, especially on that BRM board!

I am pretty sure those were dolphins, as there appeared to be a group of them. That's what I'm telling myself, anyway.

Thanks a lot! Do you kite the bay? I want to hand you some beer, but I'm rarely in SC area!

It is not my first time on this board in waves, but first time at our coast and not in "sectiony" waves, and to my surprise Clear Grip tape was pretty slick in cold water, tho in the bay it is much better, will wax it over next time! So, I had to figure how to get out not in patches of cleaner water but straight over big white mess and especially jump over sudden huge waves appearing fast in front of me and closing almost immediately. A lot to learn and next time I would go on a smaller day.

May be my mind plays games, but afair it had straight fin, but I would better think that I'm mistaken here and it was dolphin! :)

Tried to PM, but it's not working it seems.

I'm always game to share some beers - I live in SF and mostly kite sherman, waddell and crissy. Let me know what the score is.
