In the old days kiters and sailboarders would bring their old carpet to the setup area and it would be appreciated. No longer. The construction area at 3rd Avenue needs to be kept clear of any/all carpet, furniture, etc. Apparently some carpet has recently shown up, and whether or not it was put there by kiters, Foster City is asking that it stop, and that any activity of this kind be reported to the parks department: 573-3333. Thank you for your continued patience with the 3rd Ave development project.

It was a mail sent from the Parks Department to several people, including all of the concessionaires, Steve Gunn, Cavian, Rick, Cimeron, etc. The location of the carpet wasn't mentioned but they said that any material that is in the immediate vicinity of the work site jeopardizes the work so I am guessing that the contractor informed the city and they passed the information along. It is possible that it wasn't a member of our community at all, but they are asking us to keep track of it nonetheless.

on Lakeside Drive just before the entrance to the parking lot. I assume if this practice continues, the City will prosecute; Dumping on City owned property.

What is that, about 4' square? It could have been put there just to change and then accidentally forgotten. I have also seen non-community people hanging out along the fence and maybe someone put it there to sit on. If it was the former hopefully community members will be more diligent in picking up their stuff in the future. If the latter it is difficult to know, when a group arrives, what they might leave behind when they depart, especially if they depart after everyone else. I suppose that the long and short of it is that if we see anything we should report it to 573-3333.
