Walked my dogs up there this morning and they had a crew fencing off the parking lot and rigging areas. There will still be parking along the golf course fence and limited parking on the gravel road. The fence extends about 5ft into the gravel road.

Still access - but much more limited. If you park down here and launch from the upper launch its going to be longer walk - probably easier to park at the golf course. Windsurfers will also have a long ways to schlep their gear although the tanks launch should work when there is water.

For those of us who do not frequent Thrid...What are they constructing?
Is this just parking lot resurfacing?
Building new non-wind related facilities?

Bathrooms, shower, astroturf rigging areas, tables, grills, and lot resurfacing.
Other than the astroturf (the current cat piss carpets are kinda nasty) I like it the way it is. The "rustic" look kept the non-kiter/windsurfer crowds down.

Re: 3rd Ave Construction Has Started
actually the construction started a couple of weeks ago with no disruption; water and sewage from
the entrance to the now closed parking lot out to E. 3rd ave.
now the rest of the construction that will be a disruption if you park, party and/or rig at the "lower launch"
