Hey everybody!
Going to Bolinas (north of stinson beach) and I've noticed on google map there is a nice looking lagoon there.
Clearing NW wind forecasted for tomorrow.
Does anybody knows if the wind fills in in the lagoon and if yes, where do you launch from?
Otherwise I'll probably hit stinson, but my buddy is scared of the sharks there.
As far as stinson goes, I've never been there, any inputs?
Small swell forecasted for tomorrow also. So it should be goooooooood! :P
Also thinking about making the drive to bodega harbor. 8)

Launch/Land/Ride well North of the public beach. I *think* there are regulations as to where you're supposed to be - I always drive up the spit between the beach and the lagoon and walk out to the water through one of the small access paths between the private residences. Less sunbathers and general public = safer for everyone.

What about sharks? Is it worst than Waddell? My buddy is kinda freaking out but he loves to ride at Waddell and I'm trying to convince him it's the same.
Also, anybody wants to meet there tomorrow?
What sensor am I looking to know if it's on?

Re: Bolinas lagoon
It can be kind of light on the inside - but is usually nuking once you get out in the channel
I'm not sure why the coast north of the GG feels so sharky but Stinson & Bolinas definitely spook me a little bit

Re: Bolinas lagoon
it's all within the red triangle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Triang ... fic_Ocean)
considering that 0 kiters have been bit by sharks at waddell and 0 kiters have been bit by sharks at stinson, statistically they are equal. :-)
look at the pt reyes and tomales sensors...if they're blowing really strong (more then 25 ish), then stinson tends to go offshore and gusty...as the wind funnels through the lagoon.

Yes it is all Sharky but would easily kite there before I kited an area that smelled of urine/excrement (https://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/for ... =1&t=10890) Be wary of the little bugs not the big fish

Now go look at the statistics for the number of people injured/killed *driving* to the beach in cars - a daily occurrence I'm sure, and show those stats to your friend. I'm LOTS more afraid getting to the beach...

This is also good to show them, considering that it's June.
