TP can be more conducive to bay cruising, but remember, you are pretty far out there. This is why after taking risks for years on extended, sometimes solo, bay cruises, I'd like to start going with a marine radio. You do so many times and one day a problem may come up. A decent alternate is the buddy system too so at least someone knows if you have a problem...

G00d times at the tRoll plaza MJ0_
Thursday was the perfect direction for that place,a little west and little north
you guys see some random lumber floating out there?
I counted 2 half sheets of plywood,3-4 2X6's,and 1 massive 12"x 12" 6 foot long
rough milled piece of redwood, enough to make a ghetto kicker ::)
royce, you know what's up with all that stuff those guys just left on the beach fri?

Friday more west,i was worried with the fog streaming in,it would turn SW
that can leave TP in a big shadow, stayed west and super strong by the berkeley pier =
cruised up to within 1/4 mile of treasure is.,saw some curious seals, and did a nice
downwinder along side the new bridge were the wind had a nice venturi.
yeah,i am curios how emery/race track was?

you could get into some trouble from TP,5-10 minutes on a port reach and you're
looking downwind at a lot of water, with the direction fri,on a race board, bet you
could do a reach from TP to angel island.
i was thinking what if you broke down by the berk pier,
self rescue to emery marina and walk back to TP?bum a ride from royce?
you'ld be walking on the side of the freeway?maybe CHP would pick you up? JQI*
last season i cruised to the richmond slicks from the racetrack, wind died,
had to swim in,then walk from richmond back to GGF,
at least there's a bike path the whole way.
sometimes you play with fire and get burned CC%%

GOOD idea about the beach clean-up,beach is trashed, bet most came from the bay, yuck!
i'll bring a bag next time i go.

Could be third day in a row at TP, winds already up at the Treasure Island/Berkeley corridor. Hey Emery Pointers, how was the wind Thursday and Friday. Cmon, chime in, need to know.

thurs/fri at Emery Point wind would come up in the afternoon. 2:00pm-4:30pm then back off by 5:00pm, at least on the inside, with a few swimmers who didn't make it to the beach in time.

**Friday sure would of been a good crissy to berkeley downwinder day**
wind filled in from beach to beach!

looks like a 4-peat for east-bay today,maybe GGF?

@jeb my feet are like leather from years of climbing :)
booties clipped to the harness might be a good call,Th0

Chris,
Okay the Saturday the 19th works for most it would seem. The KGB team is available from 8am-9:45 am for the cleanup. We open the shop at 10am. We can bring buggies and bags and cans. I would suggest gloves for all as well.

The lumber falls from the bridge construction.

The stuff that was left was for a late night bachelor party and they cleaned it all up by the next day.

It would be safer to drift in past the radio towers and rescue there. but if you came in at emery we would be happy to help any kiter get back to there launch area.

Very good to see all the new faces keeping the spot clean safe and used!

That sounds good, so the 19th it is. With some hands to help I think a solid hour would be fine, so do you guys want to shoot for a 8:30 or 8:45 start? I'll split the topic so it's clear what the plan is.

I'll bring some rakes and cans as well. Royce, do you have the heavy duty 'Contractor Bags'? I'll do the dump run in my truck.

Ollie what is the route that makes the most sense coming from the city to get back on 80 to take that TP exit? Is the quickest route taking the IKEA exit and then circling back on to 80 West?

Are there any approaches that are guaranteed to make you miss it? Probably 880 coming from Alameda ya? Are there any others that will make you miss it?

TP is so trendy and hot right now - I gotta figure out this week if it lives up to the hype
