I feel robbed Rob. Where are my "genuine and helpful comments"? I think you are slacking on your team rider duties [-X

Yeah, not a peep out of him! His spot might be open soon!
"Switch is looking to sign up team riders no closer than 100km apart. If there is an existing team rider who has the same kites you are interested in within 100km of where you live, it is unlikely you will be accepted.
If you do not already have a Switch kite, you will be expected to purchase one within two weeks of being accepted. "

Looks like they've got Rob and Garbe signed up.

I've been learning more and more about them since being out on the east coast and it's a pretty interesting story. Totally disruptive business model--which as many folks in the valley have seen from experience will be a catalyst for the industry as a whole.. will be interesting to see how it all plays out this year and next
Will people accept paying more than 500-600 bucks for new kites if the quality from Switch is on par with their ABC brand and said XYZ "patented technology", or will Switch just end up totally consuming a big piece of the market?
If you catch Rob at crown beach on the next south just have him unhook and pass you the kite and decide for yourself

Hard to say, I recall when Best came out in 2004 - it caused a stir, some people bought them, I rode the '04 Yargas myself and at the time they were fun. "Major" brands didn't suffer much over the long run and to this day Best has never really been considered a Premium brand. Their prices seem high nowadays for a company that has never entirely lost the discount stigma. But who knows what's in store for Switch...

Sounds like a cult.
25% off for team riders,25% off of what, retail?
IMO>>team riders
should get kites at cost.or cheaper...period.
many kiters already pay 25% off or more than retail.
And how honest & helpful will comments be....if you are required to do so?
