Yes. Drought = less vegetation, the ground heats up faster and hotter and you have a greater thermal effect.Pablito wrote: Does anyone have a good explanation for why the wind would be better during drought years?
If you look at the places in the world that have the most consistent wind (Northern Brazil, Canary Islands, etc) they all have one thing in common; a close proximity to a desert.

It is obvious that Mr Lenten didn't learn a damn thing from acting like a chump. As he has posted that video on his own website. I think it would be in slingshots best interest to make him remove that from the publics eye. You know, damage control. I can't believe he would post that for everyone to see.
Well Gabe you have to believe what everyone was saying now, the video doesn't lie.
Memo to Ruben Lenten: Don't kite here.

himmmm...
why are we beating this into the ground...?
Mr Lenten seems very at home with his kite.
did he use good judgement..?no (it was the locals who blow it all up!)
who out there has not done something with there kite that was a little riskie..?
i hope Mr Lenten does come back and kite, he would be a little older and a little wiser.
Memo to Ruben Lenten: please come back and kite here anytime!

Yes i understand i don't own the river or the park at S.I. It was the similar take that the waddel locals have on people visiting their spot. The don't want someone to ruin the great spot that they have to kite.Anonymous wrote:how can you tell him not to kite there. Last time I checked it was a public spot where anyone can ride, go and join the poleboarders if you feel that way.
Am i the only one here who actually got [glow=red]pissed[/glow] when watching that video????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with charlie, he was in control at all times which can't be said of some people that come to visit SI, myself included. I think the only person out of control in that video was the woman. What the hell was she thinking? How about, could you please not ride so close to shore or something along those lines instead of a cracked out hissy fit? I don't know, it seems like things got blown out way out of proportion on this.
Interesting pics are 3.14, 3.57 and 6.50
3:14 is when he jumped in the back of a windsurfer.
3:57 would be self-explanatory especially for a Ranger.
6:50 is probably the best portion. This is a section where we see someone taking a smoke of what seems to be having some drugging effects.
I can hardly see how it could be possible to do more damage to the sport than by diffusing this video.
