So two days ago i thought i threw three kites in my car and hit the beach. Got home and was too tired to unpack.. and the next day unpacked and noticed my 10m was missing... I was convinced someone stole it or I took it out and left it in the parking lot. Checked everywhere and had cut my losses when i noticed the girlfriend had just thrown it in a closet (i never put it in the car.. but was convinced it came with me to the beach).

POINT IS (my old man stressed this)

When you do your takedown/setup routine make it exactly that, a ROUTINE! Doing things the exact same way so that when you are "excited" or "cold" or "buzzed SS$$ " you have that muscle memory built up and routine that is drilled in your mind. Like checking for all your kites in your car regardless if you used it or not.

yep, happened to me just a few weeks ago at Berkeley. Got distracted by this that and the other thing (including beer). A few days later I'm on my way to kite and got a text message which turned out to be a photo of my kite bag which had my phone number on it. Duhhhhhhhhh......just left it there on the beach, but fortunately David was nice (and honest) enough to try to reunite it with its owner.

Good karma. I am now carrying a 12 pack in my van reserved for David next time I see him. Course if he drinks enough of it, he'll forget his kite on the beach, too......but then there's where the karma thing comes into play.

Never underestimate your own propensity for doing really stupid things and you'll have a happy life. Duhhhhhhhh

I draw solace in the fact that other people do stupid things too but maybe I'm just having senior moments........
