Ok, here's the deal.

I've been contacted by someone with RVWA/SIKO about the party and to date it seems Bob and Mina haven't heard much about the party. I was given their contact info and will try to pave the way with them to assure them that everyone will be on their best behavior at this event.

I can quote part of what was quoted in the email I got which is "Other events there have not always gone too well". Yes, we know that, but we need to prove otherwise this time and run this responsibly.

Part of what this means is to refrain from any further joking or posting about last years event which F&*ked everything up for quite some time. All these references to the "salsa" stuff is not needed and only makes us look irresponsible and like it was all a big joke and we don't care, which I want to believe is not the case! (Many of those posts are now deleted)

Ollie, as much I take this whole thing seriously, i think not being able to joke about something is going a little too far. I think we are all intelligent enough to draw a line between joking and repeating our mistakes. Certainly there are a handful of repeat offenders that should be watched carefully. but for the most part our tribe is made up of honest, warm hearted and intelligent people. but if mentioning the salsa code in good humor is now tabu, then I will not say it anymore.

I just think it's stupid that in this post there were about 10 posts about it especially since after talking to Mina this afternoon that the whole thing from last year has not been forgotten.

It makes more sense to me to focus on an upcoming good time instead of rehashing a bunch of stuff that's totally played out, and has been for a while. I invited Mina to visit this site, so why keep joking about something (at least in this particular thread) that caused a lot of problems and really upset her, and others? I don't often moderate, but when I do, it's for a reason.

If it's important to keep on about it, can you all just wait a week?

I worked on collecting visual content for the party this weekend http://zflow.smugmug.com/Sports/Kitesur ... m&lb=1&s=L

If you see me on the beach, with a big lens waving at you, come up and do a slow stylish trick (stalled grabs look good, if you have passes nailed, do a simple one, smiles, peace signs, etc.)

I'll try to get someone to give me a boat/jet ski ride in the late afternoon as well.

Get sum, Z

my GOAL was to REMIND each of us that DISRESPECT will not be tolerated-

To begin:
blindsiding the hosts will NOT be tolerated..
destruction of park property/habitat will NOT be tolerated..
music will be managed PROFESSIONALLY, No DJ karyoke-
LIMBO CONTESTS are strictly BANNED due to "lieablity issues".....
naked dance contests MUST shut down by 1:00 am-
SCREAMING after closure will result in a blanket party-

Enjoy-

(remember: this is a park, most park users are very tolerant.. however MUSIC carries..
MOST users come to GET AWAY from hectic city life and ENJOY NATURE)
