Problem with poleboarders (speaking as a poleboarder for 20+ years):
Not only do they not really have a good idea about what kiters are going to do, but most of them (even experienced ones) have a hard time figuring out whether a kiter is in control or not. The out of control types that usally get dragged through their neck of the woods gives them the idea that we're all out of control.
I know I pissed some guy off yesterday when the wind almost died yesterday and I had to head off to keep up speed. He was in the water and didn't have enough wind to waterstart......I was heading upwind of him when a megagust caused me to bear off a tiny bit.....enough to come within 5 feet of him. Hope that didn't start any wars......told him I was sorry......
