Wadeel was going great today, Better than yesterday.

Out on a 10m fully powered, getting big air.

Eric the red head from crissy is a Hero according to the park ranger.
Eric was out on a 9m Crossbow way outside lost , swam in. the kites going out to sea gets his 12m Crossbow, goes after his loose kite , gets it and comes in around the point.

I didn't do the pre-Toll Plaza turn around today and forged ahead to OB and had a fine time until sunset.

That Stinson Shark Cam is pretty handy, sort of. You can't really tell if it's whitecapping or not, until you see KITES flying out in the water. That's the last time I try to second guess a forecast.

Given how wrong they were about the north wind so far (it's been calm here all day) I'd say you guys might get another session at OB tomorrow -- at least that's what NOAA says.

Epic day

Reading the technical stuff in the forecasts, it seems pretty clear that today is the transition day to a major offshore event. They're calling for 25 MPH north winds in the valley by afternoon, and the aviation forecast says that north winds are already hitting 20 mph along the coastal ridge tops.

Today would be a good one, as Ollie says, to take one for the team

Maybe you should read less of that technical stuff ...

Maybe I just need a Zcam or Olliecam, so I can just go to where the wind is guaranteed.

Sunday

I was planning on no kiting, just a mellow famly day at Stinson beach. By the time we were relaxing on the beach, 11:30, the wind was getting pretty steady. By 11:45, my amazing wife says, honey, go ahead and rig!!!!!

I wound up having a super sweet session from noon till 2pm. So nice to have the water all to yourself. At 2:30, the wind go funky - it shifted a bit more North.

On these days when the suntime is limited, you just need to pick a spot and go for it. Bring non wind options, surfing/biking/whatever, so that you can enjoy a nice day if the wind does not blow.

remember, the forecast is just an educated guess.

Today looks really nice - I bet stinson will be good early.

Later, Z.

So that WAS you I saw on the Sharkcam at 1:30. I thought that kiteloop looked familiar.

I had the "day at the beach" thing all set up, but I bailed on it myself after seeing how things went Saturday. It's a five hour drive round trip for me, and I just didn't feel like getting up early for that . We probably would have rolled in right around 2, as the wind was shutting down.

"I was planning on no kiting, just a mellow famly day" but of course, all the gear was in its usual place in the truck...

I was there on the mountain board, pretty gusty but at this season you take what you get.

Ollie was that you on the white kite in the waves? This white kite turned fast.
