Ready to demo and buy a "new" kite

Thank you all for the info which are summaried below. I (and my friends) will demo Rev and OR tomorrow, and may go to Sherman this weekend.

Slingshot Rev 9m or 11m: Dave Civ (slingyello)

To bring this back on topic. A few differences with the kites you mentioned. By the way before I start this off I ride the Rise 10m. I have ridden some of the kites you mention but not the Waimen. I can say the most about the rise since I own them so i'll put that last. The bottom line is that all the new kites are so well developed

F1 bandit:
-Rides a little on the small side, not saying its weak it just feels like they labeled the kites bigger than the actual size, or the other companies are squeezing in a meter extra, so go bigger
-Good pull/ upwind
-moderate/ slower turning
-Good jumping if you ride the larger size
-no one pump

Rev:
-Rides appropriate for size
-Really good safety but has drawbacks of the added line if you are doing rolls. I.e you have to sit there unspinning the line like a 5th line after a few spins, if not it can become non functional.
-Tight turns/ Good turning speed
-Good unhooked
-Poor jumper
-one pump

RISE:
-Best jumper of the 3 by far
-Has the power of a half size or size larger kite
-Best true 4 line safety on the market, this has allowed me to salvage all sorts of tangles but unhooking the bar and flipping it through itself when i've done something stupid. Something I could never do on my old 5 line kites.
-I don't even notice moderately gusty conditions anymore, don't know if its the venturi or just a good kite design. I switched with my buddy on his rebel and def noticed the difference. On that note most of my friends ride rebels and they note that this kite feels similar but faster turning.
-Great unhooked, I've progressed from basically crap unhooked skills to unhooked downloop S-bends and F16s. The kite also has great setting adjustments for more hardcore C-style to nearly Bow kite feeling.
-Another great feature for freestyle riding is the suicide leash attachment point on the chicken loop.

I have to completely disagree with the REV being a bad jumping kite. i love my norths but i had some serious air on that kite when i tried after only 10 minutes of riding. It was probably the easiest kite to jump i have tried next to the rebel. Perhaps it was just that it had slightly longer lines?

Poor jumper? I think pretty much everyone else who has had any amount of time on them in decent wind would totally disagree with you on this one. It flies very easily, powerfully, smoothly, intuitively and boosts big.

As far as any line spinning, most kites will need attention after multiple and repeated spins in a single direciton. 5th lines and safety leashes factor into this. To base any decision on something as minor as this would be silly, in my opinion.

Solve the problem for good on any kite at any time - learn to spin in the opposite direction or downloop your kite in a transition.

I have to disagree. the Rev is sweet to jump on.

I did find that it takes slightly different mechanics to jump a hybrid kite as opposed to a bow kite, but I figured it out within about 30 minutes of riding.
