I would be willing to make a run to safeway. It might be better to play it by ear and see who actually comes before bringing enough food to feed an army.

Looking at the forecast for today, I'd say it's not a great day for a family picnic.

Rain showers early becoming a steady light rain by the afternoon. High 54F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Sounds pretty wet. Shouldn't we postpone for another day?

Well even if it rains and there is no BBQ, The swap meet is still on.
I have an 11m fuel with only 6 flights, and a Hammer surf board. Iam willing to let them go for really cheap.
If you want a preview before the swap meet you can call me at 415-720-2427.

Keep us updated if there is a reschedule

Hi, I'm really new to the sport and I'd like to come up for both the swap meet and BBQ. I'm glad you have planned something for the families. My wife is still on the fence about this whole thing, but I'd really like to introduce her and my son to families who enjoy the sport. We live in Monterey and I decided that a two hour trip for rain wouldn't be good for her first experience into the sport. I've never been to Alameda. Is it good for newbies? Please keep us all up to date if you are going to reschedule. I wish I lived closer to you guys, because it sounds like you have a really good kiteboarding community. I'd like to know if there are going to be other 'non-kiter' wives around with kids so that she'll have someone to talk to...especially if I'm in the water flailing around while she hangs out on the beach with our son. Could be the 1st annual 'wind widow' meeting for all of those who are left alone whenever the wind blows. Thanks for the great site and info.

I think this is test of Murphy's law. If we come, it will rain. If we don't, it won't. I guess we'll give it a try. See you down there.

Hmm, no idea. I think we're at at least a dozen, maybe more...
