Yes indeed!

Thanks to Will from Windwing and a big thanks to everyone who came out! Everyone who wanted to got a chance to check out the new kites and everyone got out on the water and kited. We were lucky to have another good flat water session at B-Town. I started out on the 16.5 Rapture in light winds and enjoyed it quite a bit, then spent a solid hour++ on the good 'ol Outrage 14 and even hucked a few kite loops on it and then finished off on the new Rapture 2 12m and did the same on it. I have the Rap2 12 in my quiver and am looking forward to spending more time on it for sho'. When we were all done, the view on the Bay toward the Gate was most excellent and the beers went down well!

Thanks guys!
Ollie

Charlie,

Nice pics!

Also, I checked the windexpress.com site and noticed further reductions on the 2005 Outrages and Rage II's, which are unchanged for 2006 and it's pretty unbelievable really. The Outrages, very powerful kites that will send you sky-high and way upwind and the Rage II's, very stable and smooth kites great for freestyle, waves, and even beginners, have really good pricing at the moment.

See for yourself:

Outrages: http://windexpress.com/Models/2

Rage II's: http://windexpress.com/Models/1

Then, of course, the new Rap2's: http://windexpress.com/Models/73

I may order an Outrage 8m myself...

Hi Ollie from China:

Just a quick note regarding the 06 Rage II. The KISS principle has been applied to these kites. It has a slightly different (less complex) panel arrangement in the wingtip and most importantly, much improved SAFE system with a removable batten. No more SS rings and line wraps, etc. Operation is very smooth and the bridle adjustment is straightforward. Other improvements include stronger strut attachments, leading edge seams and optional two-pump inflation capability. The shaping and great performance is the same. So, the 05 is still an excellent bargain. Right now there is no plan to make these changes to the Outrage. Availability of the 06 Rage II is likely in the next few months.

Hope you are enjoying the new Rap II.
Best regards,
- Bill Hansen

So, what is the report on the R2 kite? Better characteristics than C kites or other bow type kites? How was the relaunch and turning speed? Good jumpers?

andy
will droped the 16.5m rap 2 right in front of the beach
then relunched it in like 3 secends, in light wind! looked very ez
turneing speed, fast on the 16.5m faster on 12m rapture2
bar pressure seemed med to light i was fly n the 16.5m with one hand
and turning it
jumping seemed inproved also but not enough wind to boost to the moon
,it was funny that will was working the 12m rapture2 when the reast of us were on 17m 16m or 14m ?
i cant wait to get one in some good wind
josh no marking on the tv van

Bill,

Thanks for the clarification. The removal of the SS rings and line wraps on the Rage II sounds much cleaner.

Indeed it was a great time. I went expecting to only socialize and look at the new kites, but I was able to get almost a couple of hours on the water. I first took out my Rapture 1 15m with my big board and could just make up wind progress. Then I took out the 16.5 Rap 2 with my big board and had plenty of power, so I came back in and took out my FLX 132. No problem going upwind. The kite was great. Fast turning (for a BIG kite). Besides a bit more power than my 15m the main thing I noticed it was easier to jump. I have never really dialed in jumping my Rap 15m, but this kite was very predictable. I can't wait to try the 12m Rap2 with some real wind. Thanks Will and WW to a great time.
