I remember my first boost ever at Alameda 5 years ago.... totally a lame (weak edge/pop) skipper to teabag..... but it was so fun! Put in your dues, boosting will become natural.. make sure to do it both directions, I tended to neglect my weak side and it took a long time to get it up to par over the years, now i try everything symmetrically and it really pays off.
Its true..... lots of board speed, edge off a little, then set the edge hard and send the kite. Try to keep the kite in motion and bring it back overhead/forward with your front-hand as you approach your landing... don't be afraid to down-loop it. Your first grab should be with your backhand on your tail after reaching the apex of your jump.... tweak it out a little for style!
Sent airs.
