Actually, my mom made the wind come up for everyone by making me come over for dinner. It never fails. I'll prove it. Come mid fall, I will make solid dinner plans with mom and watch what happens!
And that's why we should all love our mother's.

Re: For all you SlingHeads ****2010 OcTane******
Been a lot of questions regarding the new SLE Octane and I have posted some of my thoughts in various posts over the web. Since there seems to be a bit of a buzz I would like to pass on some of my knowledge regarding the kite in hope's that it will help answer some questions. Like always if you have any further questions please let me know. I'm here to help! :character-apu:
The Octanes will be very similar the Rev's. Fast and slippery... The bridle connection points are close to the same as with the lengths too so you get that Rev like feel but the strut placement is narrower and the leach tension in the TE the is pretty loose compared the Rev. The Rev was pretty tight when not loaded. Making the Octane work well with apparent wind and pockets the wind in the canpoy for good loft and jumping quality's over the original Rev. With that high end stability & performance has been increased for added tweaks over the Rev.
On a side note the center strut is not a floating strut. Its completely stitched into the canpoy with a welded joint at the LE. NO FLOATING STRUT.
Also Kevlar scuff guards have been added to all the major seams in the LE making it a very smooth wing like profile and helps increase rigidity in the LE with out all the added weight of soft pads and rubber product junk tags. Very aerodynamic LE overall... This will be a huge upgrade for anyone looking for a durable inflatable snowkite.
The Octane's will have much tighter turning/pivot and overall be faster then the RPM's making it a good kite for the coast. Both will work in the surf but the Octanes will have more shut off then the RPM. Jumping can be a bit better on the Octane due to its speed and canpoy being a bit more open for better loft and boosting capabilities but overall it really does come down to the wind and riders experience. Octanes are a bit easier to jump with overall, since you don't have to edge to much to create load and pop like the RPM's and FUEL's. Both Octane's and RPM's have light bar pressure and can be tuned to the specific feel and pressure you want with out much hassle. Out of the 3 kites in the SS line up the Octane will be the fastest and best at relaunch due to its swept wing tips.
Slingshot 2010 Line up. Summer-Fuel; Fall/Winter-Octane; Spring 2010- RPM
3 kites for the 2010 line-up, different times when they release.
Also I have a profile on vimeo that has tons of product videos regarding Slingshot products. All done by me so there not super hyped out but simple and to the point to get your questions answered and your stoke up! Browse it if you have a little time....
