If you want a Windwing Cruise Control bar, OEM equipment for that kite, I've got one complete with lines and in good shape. $50 and it's yours. I also have a Windwing Outrage 10m and Outrage 12m available for not much more. Medium turning, high-aspect big air upwind crushers. Perfect for beginners! :)

um, would the bar be able to fit on any kite. I was sort of looking into buying a bar that I could use on every kite I will ever get.

No, that is wrong. Every modern kite you will ever get after you have learned to kiteboard will come with bar/lines. In light of that, I will reduce my price to US$40.00. It will then be your WW kite with a factory matched WW bar/line set. Then when you sell your 05 kite in 09 you can advertise as "Complete"!

I guess I meant when you buy a used kite, it will generally come complete with bag, bar/lines, etc.

The answer is for the most part, no, at least with regards to one bar for EVERY kite. Kites are generally designed to be used with a certain type of bar.

My 5 line kite will not fly (well) on a 4 line bar. It needs the support of the fifth line.

My 5 line bar may not work (well) with another style of 5 line kite, because the front lines Y instead of running all the way to the bar.

A standard 4 line bar will not work (well) with a kite that expects the extended range from a 2:1 bar with pulleys.

My 5 line bar's safety mechanism is releasing to the 5th line. Some kites with a fifth line are only using it for support, and will not depower the kite (i.e. some 5 line kites with a span line).

You can do some do-it-yourself rigging and tuning and maybe get something to work...

Hopefully the industry will sort itself out. However, it seems to be getting worse, and not better.

the simplified answer to your question is that 95% of kites fly using equal length lines. This means as long as all your kites were set up for that configuration, you would be able to fly a 4 line bar with all/most of your 4 line kites. But there may be tuning associated with each one. Not reccomending this, but it would work.
