i personally like the big swivel. better chance of it not breaking or binding. but IMHO swivels are overrated anyway. a few kiteloops or backrolls keeps my lines straight!

the octane looks like a sweet kite...more of an evolutionary shape, seems like it combines the rev and the TD as their user friendly freeride kite. there's a big market for kites like that, so they should do well with it.

The RPM looked like a great kite too, but in my opinion, if you want a sick 4 line freestyle kite, why wouldn't you just ride the fuel? seems like there's a bit of overlap there. the fuel is such a nice kite, sad to see not many folks riding them.

It's too bad people are scared of the new C kites. I see a lot of Naish on the water, but not a single Torch! Like the fuel, those kites have so much development and testing done on them year after year, they are really very very good.

Man, this is probably my first post in at least two weeks, been busy!

Another member here knows people at Butter, where we had the party last year, so that might work. So, we'll keep it open, should be able to do it somewhere. A party would be fun, we've done three so far, might as well do another, but we need a spot. I'm just not transporting truckloads of audio and visual gear to deliver, set up, break down, load up, bring back, and unload. Over time, it takes the fun out of it, so it's really about doing it at a cool spot with audio in place, bar, room, etc...

Let's do it at my shop this year.driving/parking in SF blows! Alternating is only fair. Tons of parking, you know the drill. Anyways, it is an option as always.

We'll need to get the gas-powered bar stool racers on film. The ramp and your dirt bikes should make a nice sideshow, we can chip-up all the old carpet and padding and full your dumpster as the L.Z..

I'll bring a medical kit and backboard.

No matter how great the kite is, I think almost everyone except the guy who named it is wondering why it got the name of an older c kite???

So for the future, here are some un used automotive related names to use for kites:

The Pushrod
Crank
Supercharger
Nitrous Oxide
Redline
Burnout
Full throttle
The Oxygen sensor
The Big Block
The Tailgator
High Emission
The Air conditioner
The Tail pipe
The Catalytic Converter
The Spinner

etc....

I didnt think of that approach.

Slingshot can announce that the previously called octane, was actually never really called that. The kite is a nihilist. The kite formerly known as Octane is now, and was always called "-----". A sound no human can reproduce and therefore only identified by a symbol- like Prince. To make up for the confusion we ,Slinghot, are changing our name to wrist rocket kites and will be coming out with a new kite in 2010 called the buckshot. It will be a wave kite and a big looping booster with 200% depower and only 2 ilnes with full 4 line control. it sells for $20,000,000. But we only need to sell 1.
