The TW's were sick! But nobody told me they were dedicated wave kites, I pretty much just took them out on the bay and inland, and the gorge, and Maui and Hatteras... gotta get more kite trips in... sigh...AntiJF wrote:Hey, Gabe.
All due respect. First off, I like Eclipse Kites (I've flown them) and I always root for the company- Dmitri and Chris are awesome guys and they foster a good spirit in the kiteboarding world- but the Kima is not the first dedicated wave kite out there, not by at least four years now... Ollie, remember these? ;)

Kind of a hard arguement to make against a kite called the "Type Wave"

Hi Guys
Wave kite or not. The kima is a kite suited for riders that want to ride waves and get away with small kite, plane and simple .
If you like a fast turning kite to get you down the line this is a great kite for you.
I personally have to say I like it for jumping too.So any one out there that thinks it does not jump.It does.
I have so much fun going out to there trying strapless trick variations with this kite.
It can do what you want it too.But for many it is a great kite to ride waves.
I have also been riding the Thrusters and enjoying them too.You really want to boost give this puppy a go.
There is a use for every style kite in different conditions.
Have fun with it and get out there.

We were working on launching what I thought would be a great series and addition to the site a while back, and I talked to several pros, but, to my dis-credit, got really busy and didn't follow through on it.
But, perhaps with Felix's arrival and more future input from him and others, we can launch this feature and get things going.

Hey Paul, yeah, you want to try the Kima for sure! You can email me anytime you want to try but we will be doing an official coastal tour with myself, Dimitri and Felix end of March trough beginning of April. We will start in LA moving up to Pismo and end in SF for the 31st - 3rd. More details to follow...Bulldog wrote:OB/Waddell demo coming when, Gabe?

Ollie, I think that could be good but I also think having Pros contribute regularly to pertinent threads is very helpful. For Eclipse, nobody rides the Kima as much as Felix, so there is nobody more qualified to answer everyones questions about the Kima.BayAreaKite wrote:We were working on launching what I thought would be a great series and addition to the site a while back, and I talked to several pros, but, to my dis-credit, got really busy and didn't follow through on it.

Re: Eclipse 2009 Website live and the first Wave dedicated kite
I'm really anxious to try the Kima. I've been riding the Nano at the coast and it's great in the waves. Soooo much better than my previous wave kite! It's hard to imagine how it could be improved much, but being designed from the start as a wave kite, the Kima should deliver. Unless the wind is nonexistent at Pismo again this year, I'm going to be giving it a good workout.
