Localism, to me, is about self and selfishness..
I thrive under pressure and mostly like people, therfore I generally like surfing in packs. Surfing in competitive groups keeps the ball rolling for me, I like to paddle around alot to position (and reposition) myself to take priority, is this aggressive? Yes, but is it wrong, NO! This is following the rules.. Another tactact I employ to add pressure and pump up the fun is a fake takeoff. I use this method when I see someone struggling in priority position to get them to potentially back-off, as I do this I pay close attention to there progress, sometimes I prompt them with a GO!-Go!-go!, only taking the wave when they prove they lost it or are going to get a rinse cycle...

Is this localism? NO!, It's called pressure, it's the law of the jungle- and unless you pump it up you'll get pushed out, so I'm a pusher NOT a SNAKE! Snaking is BAD JU-JU, pushing on the other hand simply raises the bar.

Tuesday, coast, big wave spot that's not worth kiting if it's not overhead plus, 15 plus kiters out. With the light, flukey wind, most weren't even able to make it up to the break to drop in, much less stay on the wave.

I don't really need a tutorial on wave height, thanks.:)

I need a tutorial. So are you considering that wave triple overhead? Doesn't the camera angle make it look bigger, and also the wave didn't break all the way so wouldn't that make it different?

the overhead angle seems like a bad perspective on wave height. the billabong XXL uses shots taken at water level.

Nice shots of you on those waves though.
