Now, yesterday, the ramp and the activities associated with the ramp were just plain in the way. Now, ramps and kiteboarding are lame to begin with, you can not hold an edge on a ramp so boosting high is not an option. If you want to build your ramp, go somewhere where you are not getting in the way of people who want to ride the traditional island and boost over the reeds.
wow I really hope that you are joking. the whole point of a kicker is to not have to boost using your kite, it's to hit powered, similar to snowboarding. the result is ideally something different than dangly kite jumps. watch this video and tell me that "ramps with kiteboarding are lame" :

dre uses them to go very big indeed, but more importantly does it with great style, which is what it really is all about.

props to lmg and those that got this together, pushing the sport like this can only bring good things!

Who are the Sherman Safety Crew? Was it approved by the SIKO and RVWA?

Anyway it did not bother me, because as Clint Eastwood's character said in Dirt Harry , " A man has to know his limitations, well do ya punk"

And I know to stay away.

Saturday I was doing port jumps at the second island and then went out into the channel, worked my way upwind and then back down and around the south side of the island. During that time they towed the kicker in and parked it for starboard jumps just past the reeds....but I didn't even see it until after I boosted port. Duh, hard to miss something that big but I was looking for oncoming kites getting ready to boost. So.....sorry to the guy that came off the kicker at the same time. It wasn't THAT close but it was unintentional.

Can't see why anybody should have a problem with the kicker being there but it's good that it's not parked there ALL the time. I did see some carnage, though.....second hand.

I'm staying away from that thing. Looks like it could be fun but......no first hand carnage, thks.

This is not the first time a ramp has been put in this position, so in the future, take the ramp somewhere else and don't spoil a great spot.

Thanks,

Save it for Crissy! But seriously, I saw no problems with it, still plenty of fun to be had all around that area. Everyone else enjoyed it and no one complained, but I guess you can't please everyone all the time. Don't I know it!

Thanks again to Yuri for Launching me by the boat ramp against his better judgement. For the guy on the blue North kite with bad attitude cursing out me and the crew for no apparent reason, you are no longer welcome here until apologies are given! SSC RULES BEEOTCHS!

Hey SI Local I think I saw you in the Ruben Len10 video filmed at sherman island. You're the guy with the guitar.
