Maybe all this talk will shame the participants into better behavior next time...WHAT good dose this do...?

Charlie, no one can argue but a forum that shuts up is not much of a forum. What this does is gets it out of our systems. We all tend to be civil to eachother on the beach no matter what we write. Consider BAK therapy. But have faith in the factthere are always 2 sides to every story, if not more. Without getting in the middle of anything I have always found Rebecca to be a welcome face when i come to the beach. Always smiles and always says hello. They do have the responsibility of parenting that area of the beach for their students and anything that may be a safety issue to them. We have a small family here and talk gets out fast. Lets be careful we don't bash our brothers and sisters just because it makes us look good to mom and dad.

Having cops show up to referee their spat is BS.
If it keeps happening, maybe the powers will decide kiting is not worth the hassle.
I dont have a horse in this race, you sure seem to.....

Crown Beach
In response to questions about commercial activity at Crown Beach Park:
Jeff has had a history with conducting commercial activity at Crown Beach Park without necessary permits. This has been going on for years, and was an existing issue between Jeff and EB Parks when we stepped in to manage the school six years ago. This is not an issue between Boardsports School and Jeff, it is an issue between Jeff and the East Bay Regional Park district.
Boardsports School has a permit and contract with Crown Beach Park, and pays a healthy sum for all of our commercial activities at Crown Beach Park.
Anyone who would like more information on the necessary permitting requirements, please contact the East Bay Regional Park District.

In response to questions about getting along and having nice beach Karma:
We were about to partner with Jeff last Spring on a big safety day at Crown Beach. Just before the event, we learned that Jeff had set up a website with the URL boardsportschool.com (one letter off in the spelling from our website) and directed this site to his site. He also set up the email address info@boardsportschool.com to direct email inquiries to his business. He listed false whois information behind this website. Anyone who wishes to see this information can run a whois search on boardsportschool.com. He is still paying for the ownership of this domain.
This activity did bum us out a bit and we decided not to partner with him on the event. We have partnered with many other Bay area shops. We have referred lots of business to other schools and shops (and have referred a bunch to Jeff before we got bummed out last summer). We support all local shops and schools and wish to happily co-exist with them to promote both sports. Here is a list of your local schools ñ please take lessons, be safe, and buy local (I created this list on the SFBA site and have been referring business to all these shops/schools for years):

In response to friends teaching friends kitesurfing at Crown Beach:
We are committed to promoting safety for kiteboarding. We sometimes are paranoid about maintaining access as our livelihood depends on access for the sport. If we have ever been anything but nice (sometimes I get tired and I confess I am not always nice when I see blatant safety violations), I apologize to anyone I may have offended. Please forgive me and know that safety and access were my main goals and intentions.
We encourage people to help their friends who are newbies coming to kite at Alameda. If friends act responsibly to assist their friends (that hopefully have taken lessons first with a certified school), we all can help promote safety for the sport. If we see someone jeopardizing beach goers or other peopleís safety with their lack of safety awareness, we will do our best to promote the safety on the beach and try to stop the behavior that puts us all at risk. Please be responsible when helping your friends ñ stay away from the crowded launch area, have safety awareness, and teach them to be a responsible kiter. If you donít have common sense on these issues, perhaps your friend should be getting their help from a school.

Yah, Things should lighten up a bit. Though we had a predicament as well at Sherman on Saturday night...Drink Jagermeister or Tequila with our Keg O Beer. I can't really remember...though I think it was Jager..
