So does anyone know the breaking strengths of different sized bungee cords by chance? I was going to buy some off Mcmaster Carr to try doing some no wind alameda bungee wakeboarding but I can't seem to Google a site with actual specs on the cord, just diamter and amount of stretch. I should probably post this under that post with the video of the bored surfer, but i too lazy, sorry.
Just buy it already fabricated -

build a sick little kicker and place it on the inside cement box. hook the end to the outside water hazzard and start by dry launching off the radio tower.
we'lll get three or four strong bloks to pull you back and schackle you to the pole. you can strap in to some wake boots and I'll pull the rip cord..
WHEEEeeeee!!

Alright, i bought the LT model. Figured tha the HT might be better for someone like Greg but for me I want the slower longer ride. My plan is to wrap a cable around the far pier in front of the shack and go outon a 2-4' tide. Pull it back with someone else as the rider straps in, then let em go! The problem I concluded to with a big rubber band is that in order to get the force required to actually get you out of the water you will need to pull the cord back enough that you have no choice but to get alot of pull right after coming up. I was hoping to get a long smooth ride as to a harsh fast one but that may not be possiblwe unless you are on a really large board that planes easily. The videos on their site are awesome! Guy is surfing the swell on a river rapid!!! I'm in love.
This is going to be the ultimate toy for "Too light crew" at Alameda. Those days we are all sitting there looking out for that 1 whitecap saying " I think that's wind out there???" Go grab the bungee! I hope Jane and Rebecca dont crap their pants.
