Sick loops

Speaking of getting some, alameda has been windy all day but I aint goin out there in that frigid ass cold water! Does BART go to Abaco?

I did a sick loop today, actually it was a sickning-loop...( 2.5 backroll off a wave with a 3/4 loop-di-poop, I knew I was dead about 1/2 way through but I held on anyway) Awe it wasent that bad...
Another time I got a beer-bongs amount of water injected into my cake-hole as this wave closed out in my face. I never even fell but while I was choking and trying to take another breath for what seemed like 5 minutes I kept thinking "Shit that went straight into my lungs" Dont worrie, I'm fine, AAh!, maybe a little more nasal drip..

What was most memerable about todays session was it's weirdness.
This big black cloud mass hung 10 miles off shore from 3:00 tell almost dark. The skys over Abaco were cristal clear and tons of waves were breaking out in the Sea of Abaco tell the mouth of the channel off No-Name Cay. The surf was strange too, maybe it was the lighting, but it seemed like sneaker waves were every where. I could see waves breaking for miles but it was really hard to see the swell. Damn water is too clear or something, maybe it's the white sand bottom, I dont know.
The biggest surf I got to was head high max, most of the stuff around 3 or 4 feet. Long chains of white water would form after sets came through but mostly I just rode back and forth up-wind tell I just ran into something forming up. I'd look around and see nothing, then wammo sets would appear. Some would have little heaving sections but mostly they were pretty benign 2/3's rolling types.
My kite selection wasnt exectly great for the job either. I took off from the beach perfectly powered on my 14m T.D. only to find the wind getting progressivly stronger the further I got from shore. Problem was I had to go straight up wind to get to the waves, the furthest/biggest were like 4 miles off shore!
So I pounded my was way up wind maybe 3 miles before I run into my first big set of waves. Taking off down the line going right (backside surfing) I find the wave pretty slow and my kite turn speed even slower due to the massive amount of depower and cloth. So I do what any normal lazy person does, jump from wave to wave or carve out only a turn or two before riding back and hitting the next one as straight up and hard as I could. I was thinking the waves were pretty darn soft tell one felt like it almost broke my ankle, then I wized-up and started going left at least part of the time.
After my first long set of right-hand rides I was dismayed how far I had to go to get back to the starting line, well I never quite made it to the top again, instead I opted to ride the middle area. I desided I'd call the area Fuk-It Sandbar, good enough for this old man so I just said F-it and started riding again.
Another cool thing happened, I kept hitting these cut backs that would beg me to look back at my spray. I'd look back and my spray was flashing in the sun light like thousands of diamonds, even after seeing it a dozon times I couldnt believe the sparkle. I've not seen this effect except maybe surfing early in the morning with strong off-shore wind, one even formed an awesome rainbow for a moment. It was so strange, I wish I could have a photo to show you, but I guess you'll just have to take my word, it was beautiful.

Unfortunately I got hit like a ton of bricks with a nasty cold today; yuck!

I've been in bed most of the day and hobble over to ikitesurf from time to time to check the wind. Crap! I missed out. I was thinking my body would not like me if I went out in the cold. Tomorrow is another day.

What plays mp4s on a pc? I would assume the new windows media player would but I cant associate this with anything.
is it the same video as this? I have never seen anyone do 2 handlepasses in a row before.

Hey Yuri, if you go to: Kite Cinema you can download a .wmv of the movie. The latest two with Ruben Lenten are sick and have the double handle pass all over the place. Sweet!

Also, the kiteboardingmag site uses the flash player and not the latest quicktime so you should be able to view it there, but the vid is smaller. Enjoy.

Uri get the VLC media player. It plays everything so far and its the least intrusive player you can install.
