Don, I didn't see any other kites at Marina Bay yesterday, just one or two by the racetrack, were you one of them?

Didn't kite all day Sunday. Family visting from Texas put us at the Monet art exhibit all afternoon. Just as well. Needed some rest after an epic 4 hr sesh at SI Saturday and another 3 hr SI sesh today. Noticed that kite by the tracks too. MBP looked like it was going off. Ever been out there buzz'n birds Sander?

Yeah, there's some windy flat water there behind the jetty.

Read an interesting blurb in a book at the Tilden Nature Center that said Brooks island used to be owned by Bing Crosby as his private game reserve. He and his posse would go there to shoot birds. Must be nice to be so rich to own a whole island.

Greg; good catch.

I didn't intend to literally mean flying into or near flocks of birds, but after reading it myself I can see how that could be mis-interpreted. Greg's right; fly inside the lagoon, or too far south-east near the big island, effectively into the bird sanctuary and you could be fined big $.

What I did intend to communicate is that, way out there north-west of the big island, a seagull or two may pull up and draft off your kite. It's pretty amazing to watch how eager they are to pick up a free ride.

Hope I didn't mis-lead anyone :)

Ciao

Don,
I didnt take your statement as literial, my post was more about fun then adding pressure on newbies to the area, and certinly it wasnt directed at any one in pictular, just a mass-mailer...
Simple enought to have fun there without being a violator, just wanted to pass info about another RESTRICTED AREA before its too late...
