I guess the only concern is the launch at Coyote as the downwinder itself really is not very long. The launch is as nasty or nastier than 3rd lower kite beach with shifts and holes before you reach the wind line(the more south in the westerly wind direction, the worse this will be), and choosing the exact location to launch is critical as well because there are power lines very close. It appeared to me that the guys have found the best launch position ... get to the south most part of the beach (this is the OLD ASD beach) and the launch assistant takes the kite into the water for maximum distance from the power lines. At lower tides you can get further away from the power lines on the sandbar.

Updates to Schedule

Post by ~emily. » Sun May 21, 2006 2:45 pm

We've made a couple chages to the schedule and will be adding additional events as the season progresses (look for boarder cross & downwinders!)

For now, here are a two specific weekends:

July 15-16 Windsurfing Freestyle Clinic

July 22-23 KiteGirl Women's Delta Downwinder & Clinic
with KWS & Ki'topia & Edge (more info on the Women's Event coming soon!)

cheers,
~e.
