It's very sad we lost Royce, We were not the closest of friends and had our differences However I loved him and I 'm sure it was mutual. Very Heartbreaking to hear such bad news.
God Rest his Soul.
May God make it easy for his family and friends left behind.

So f'd up. So was this a car theft? And he was run over with his own car? So f'd up. Always sad to hear the loss of a brother in our sport.

What do you all think about renaming Toll Plaza beach in his memory? He really did pretty much pioneer that and San Leandro.

I'm confused - was he hit with his own car? Why wouldn't the police release this picture if so? I saw this on the news last night - didn't know it was rvv - and a picture of "the same model car but different color." It sure seemed awfully easy to come up with a few hundred hits when googling "white toyota fj cruiser" for images. I hope justice is served.

The article said the police are looking for a Toyota FJ Cruiser, and the photo posted by Tony Soprano shows Royce in an FJ Cruiser, so I figured that it was either an incredible coincidence or he was possibly carjacked (it happened in a pretty sketchy part of town). I called the Oakland police and they couldn't give me details.

It was really fun screening "With A Kite" together with Royce and KGB. He provided a lot of swag that was tossed out at the end and even though he wasn't at the show, his stoke was present. When we were skunked at his TP demo day he fixed a cable winch to his truck and offered short rides to "demo" the various boards. I loved that he loved the BAK truckers. Thanks Royce for sharing your love of the sport with others.

So Sorry and Stunned to hear about this. He was a great supporter of kitesurfing and having fun while doing it. His energy will be missed. Maybe see you all at Royce's beach sometime...
