Video of Friday's Waddell session

Looks like its best to make videos at Waddell earlier in the day so that the sun doesn't directly shine into the camera.

The rear traction pad is Dakine Kalani model. The red forward part of the grip is from NSI (it was trimmed it up for the board from a sheet). Creatures of leisure also make a good traction pad.

Hey, really nice. Notice you ride exclusively backside regular foot. Do you ever ride frontside? I have been working on riding more rights at my break, and both back and frontside. My biggest stumbling block is getting more comfortable controlling the kite with my left-hand while riding rights frontside, its very awkward still.

Yeah, I think I will start working on front side riding as well, once the waves get a bit smaller. I tend to put too much weight forward when I ride toeside, but the Vanguard really needs a lot of weight on the back of the board. I also noticed that I tend to be too aggressive on the toeside carves, and that leads to a lot of face plants especially on the wave face :)

I finally got a 2014 Caution Spitfire 8m to replace my Switch Method 7m. I should have done that a long time ago, as the Spitfire can be sheeted out a lot more. It makes it a lot easier to ride the board up and down the wave as the kite doesn't try to pull you off the wave all the time.

Are we talking method v1 or v2? I had a method v1, the most gutless kite I ever flew.

It was a v1. I wouldn't call it gutless, it required a lot of guts to fly it at the coast as it didn't like to depower and had a super heavy bar pressure :)
