I've done FaceTime video chats with my wife and kids (and a few friends) while out at Sherman. They can hear fine (with tons of background wind noise) - I can't hear much (video calls use the speaker for audio). In the HitCase, I can hear well using the phone normally..

Sonny brings up a good point - foiling would make it a lot easier to talk on the phone, e-file your taxes, or give yourself a quick pedicure while out on the water

Hey guys,
Lifeproof makes a great water proof case with a slim profile.
http://www.lifeproof.com/en/?medium=tsa ... lsrc=aw.ds

I have used one for 2 years. It's awesome when ever I take my Iphone4 on boats and it came in handy when I dropped it in the dog bowel. I don't trust myself taking my phone kiting because I have a horrible track record with ruining phones. (I kite with the buddy system and/or VHF radio)

BIG TIP with any water proof case is to test its seals once a month-every few months. Also Let the case air dry vs. towel dry (trapped lint from towels can poetically cause a leak in the seal. Read the manufactures info on this.

Cheers,
Laurel

I have used 2 cases similar to the ones Sonny linked to (they are all the same with different brands). Both cases worked really well, seal tight, I can make a call if I have to though hearing is not easy through the thick plastic but it works in a pinch. For <$10 it works well and keeps the sand (and water) out of the phone. This case also comes with the lanyard that is really secure.

Bump on idea re: testing it every month. Any drybag / waterproof case etc. I've ever own eventually reached a point where it didn't seal anymore. Time periods varied - but the thing about watertight seals are, they work until they don't.. And then the price of the failure can be steep!

Well, with the pvc packs it is only top seal, I've had my Aquapac for like 10 years already and it works great (well worth 40 euro I paid back then in europe), mostly using to keep keys with remote while kiting, but as well used it a lot for the phone, keys, money etc on vacations.
Will upgrade to a smaller one soon to make sure it's new and smaller profile specifically for keeping fob keys while kiting.
Good-bye... and hello... as always!
Victor
