If you have made the conversion to a sliding spreader bar like the Dynabar you need to be aware that there you will no longer have a knife on board. I just discovered this recently. I had a Dakine spreader bar that comes with a knife, and when I swapped it out I didn't realize that the Dynabar didn't have one. I needed it in an emergency situation, reached for it and it wasn't there.
My kite was down, couldn't relaunch it, was taking the slow train back to the beach when I snaggedd a crab trap. That got wrapped in my lines, ended dragging the trap to shore as well.
Going to add one to the Dynabar.

That sounds scary. Glad you were able to muscle the whole lot in. How did your lines fare after that haul?
I noticed the non-existent knife when i made the switch to dynabar this year. There is a space where you can insert a hook knife, but not much to hold it in place. I added some velcro which seems to do the job, and now the knife check is part of the setup/breakdown routine.

I broke one line, replacing all 4. I looked at the dakine setup and doing what you did. Just purchased Velcro with waterproof adhesive and recreating the setup on the dakine harness, using the knife that came with that harness.
