I just hope it's not another PowerBalance type scam.

It might be wishful thinking though since a lot of us play in the Red Triangle...

"Who are Sharkbanz not for?

There are a few more dangerous professions and situations in the ocean where protection beyond the level of Sharkbanz is recommended. Commercial divers, spear fishermen, and anyone swimming, diving or surfing in waters known to be hot spots for Great White Sharks are advised not to rely solely on Sharkbanz as protection. Great White Sharks are ambush predators and operate in a fundamentally different way from other species. While Sharkbanz might help your cause, we certainly wouldn’t go swimming near a seal rookery and expect not to be bitten."

I agree - everyone should stop kiting at the coast... ;^)

It looked like the shark had to get pretty close to investigate before it figured out it wasn't something it wanted to have anything to do with - I think my biggest question would be if it's something that takes very close proximity to deter, would at further distance the signal actually raise curiosity level?

Oh is this kinda like the magical holographic magnetic powerbalance bracelets that were a hit 5 years ago? It took a couple years but at least that company admitted there was no scientific evidence to base their claims on. I will waste my money other ways like laying up crazy shaped surfboards, but to each his own. Do they offer a warranty? And if so how does the claim work if you want your money and leg, arm, or life back? Anyhow, its gonna be 85 on the coast this weekend and the sharks are gonna be out. Dont go unless u have a shark band. Way too risky. For you band toting guys and gals out there, should be epic paddle surfing conditions.

I dunno. I remember Myth Busters doing a shark week episode about magnets and sharks. They basically concluded that unless you were dealing with a tiny Dog fish baby, the big guys don't really give a flying fuck.
