Venezuela - Los Roques

Los Roques was the most amazing (right up there with Brazil) kiting spot I have ever been to. The beauty and crystal Caribbean water is unmatched, you feel like you're in Fiji! It's only 30 min. from Caracas. We started in Yaque then to Coche, but this was definitely the most memorable.

We had 20-25 knots everyday which we were told isn't normal as the winds are usually 15-20, but the Gods must have heard we were coming! :) You absolutely need a guide to help fill you in on all the spots and downwinders, the boat drivers do not speak English so without a Spanish speaker (and do they speak FAST!) you'll be doing a lot of the logistics instead of kiting...

We were there for 3 full days and downwinded and kited from island to island. Over the course of the days, we saw no more than 4 other kiters. It's truly a kiters' paradise. I will have more pics and a full trip report next week, but I just had to share!

I really cannot wait to go back! Season runs from December - May.

Here are some more photos.
Now, I know there aren't a ton of kiters in the pics, BUT we were the only kiters in some areas... Enjoy!
