Sounds like everyone who went to Brazil had a great trip. I will make it on a kite trip there before long!

John,

Bummer about the leg, but it sounds like it was a clean break and will heal quickly. :) Meaning no down-time for you once the season starts... Curt said you guys had an awesome time.

Clint,

Nice pics from your trip, makes me want to go in the future.

Do you guys think Brazil kiteboarding scene will get very crowded in the coming year or two?

it's already crowded on the good spots like paracuru and cauipe(sp) lagoon. But there's still plenty of room on the main beaches of cumbuco and is still worth going. The scene is pretty laid back and not much to do at night and safe.

My day is something like this:
wake up, look out side, check how strong the wind is.
have breakfast, then wait for the wind to pick up some more ~10am.
Pump my 11m, walk it outside and setup my kite and lines.
kite till I get tired or hungry.
have lunch and then maybe take a nap.
Kite some more, rest and kite some more.
then repeat every day :).

The downside is that you leave your kite on the beach the whole day under the hot sun.

We had such an awesome time with all the SFers. JGarbe glad to hear that you are resting and will hopefully be in full recovery soon. Looking forward to hitting some winter kiting spots with you, but we will need some downtime when we get back :)

To answer your question Ollie about the crowds here, there are over 400 km of coast and all kite-able locations, the busy towns like Cumbuco, Paracuru and Jeri/Prea I think will catch on, but for the other small towns that no one talks about, there will always be secret coves and enough room for tons of kiters... We live in Paracuru and while the main kite beach can get populated, you can just drive 4 km and have the place to yourself.

A new meaning of PARADISE! :) :)

Clint, that is my dream day! Sweet. Welcome back, I'm glad you made it in one piece.

Jgur - man, take care. That sounds pretty insane! I love the part about the drunk doctor. How funny and scary =D> .

Question: Does Brasil have year round kiting?

ps. Ollie, I love the new picture!

Curt and John speak the truth. Aside from a few spots where there is a restaurant on the beach, the coast is deserted. Everywhere else, the only people on the water are your friends. I figure we downwinded 200-250k over the 10 days riding in waist to head high waves nearly the whole way with the occasional rivermouth thrown in for a dose of flat butter. Hooking up with Kite Adventures was the call for a headache free, hassel free trip where all we had to think about was kiting and how to keep the beer cold. They do a darn good job coordinating transpo and lodging in a country that opperates much like Mexico in it's 'manana' time schedule.
