Say Rich:

Don't know if I know you...but I also play with some folks. I do not know if Ollie has much budget for live tunes, and I know that he is lining up a bunch of dj action - including him.

I do not know about your band mates, but with mine, there is less energy for schleping gear if there ain't much green - fo sho for the drummer. I think it would be a gas to get some kiting players out there for some jammin....My main drummer is already booked for the night, but I have a vocalist that is open, and I could also bring keys in addition to my main axe which is guitar. I know Jim K. would like to play if he is around. If you could get a drummer, I could bring a PA, mics etc.

Any interest, ideas? Anybody else out there? Drop me a pm if you like....

Bob

Live music is an option and would be welcome to go from 9-10, but we haven't allocated much of a budget for live music. There could be some, but don't figure on it paying your rent. Starting at 10, DJ's go on, with 4-5 DJ's in the lineup, some pro...

bums me out that the current scene is all about the dj..... some guy spinning some records....In that case, it is mostly about dancing to loops, or background music.....

us geezers remember the old daze, when guys would be rocking out with live music.....then the crowd might dance, but there is also something to look at, and perhaps listen to.....different sort of entertainment - perhaps some art - but then again, perhaps not, as some players are lousy, and that can be a full on drag...

but of course, that is just my perspective. Ollie - I do not think you are going to get any takers for a 1 hour time slot.....I am sure it will be a blast regardless!

Bob - dude, I am 100% with you.....while I like to dance to some DJ music, it can get old quick.....I much preffer experiencing people creating 'live' music....which explains my concert obsessions before kids.....I saw a few dead shows in case you don't know...

It's tiime to aknowledge that I'm getting old...... I also love C kites, so I guess I am old school ;-)

The party is going to rock. Have fun everyone.

Get some, Z.

Concerts and live music are awesome and irreplaceable, I agree completely. The band members and what they play is key too and needs to be a good fit with the party and crowd. I've been to a few parties where the banmd was kind of a drag and everyone was really just waiting for them to finish so the DJ would start. With that said, the party was announced a while back and no one really stepped up and expressed much interest in playing, but it's all about the vibe and energy, so with what we have planned I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

Zeev, you speak as if you won't be there?! You are hereby ordered to produce a babysitter and attend! If you can't make it, you will be missed, and in addition, this party is not to be missed...hope to see you there. All you need is one miracle ticket!

Hey you guys I'm in a pretty chill band, and we play all kinds of music. In the future I would love to play music at a party!

Happy kiting
