Maui-to-Moloka'i kiteboard event set

The Maui-to-Moloka'i Cros-sing, a kite-boarding event, will be July 22.

Riders will depart from Maui's west side and kite across the Pailolo Channel to the east side of Moloka'i and then finish with an 18-mile ride downwind to Hotel Moloka'i.

Check-in time is 9 a.m. at the Embassy Suites in Ka'anapali. The riders will start at 11 a.m., with starts being staggered.

Registration is $150 and the deadline is July 15. There will be a free clinic on July 23 at Hotel Moloka'i at 10 a.m.
