But Charlie they could look at current conditions before putting out the forcast. You're way more accurate, and you put together a more reliable forcast without the fancy modles.

thanks....
ill pencil it in .
you have to admit that, with no real spring action this year, the weather is funny.
spring winds have been my favorite winds, strong and long lasting
with punch.
i hope we get a small spring season soon.

All the warm water did the last 2 years was to bring more tuna up north and have the bottlenose riding with us on the North Coast!
Sherman didn't stop ripping and we all had an awesome season.
I wouldn't read too much into it. Let's just hope that since the season started late, it will go for longer ;-)

long term forecasting

Post by Scotty » Mon May 08, 2006 8:01 am

one thing to remember is weather forecasting is an imperfect science at best. while i am still new to understanding weather flow and patterns it is always a good idea to rely on more than one source. i am sure charlie and z consult a wide array of sources to come up with conclusions.

some of the stuff I use is

http://www.poulton.net/windsurf/wrpt.color.html

http://www.opc.ncep.noaa.gov/

then I use local forecasting

I use these along with ikitesurf to educate myself in these wacky microclimates we live in

don't get all caught up in what ikitesurf has to say, just use it as a tool against other models
