Big Winds Today!

Post by Big Al » Sun Jan 22, 2006 1:34 pm

N winds supposed to cranking all day long at Sherman Island. Have to launch from Windy Cove, which is somewhat sketchy, but doable. The sensor is currently reading 22mph (16-29) NW winds.

The channel sensor is down, so if you look in ikitesurf, you won't see the readings. Look on your pager or cell phone.

I'm on the fence about going, big football games on today and it's ebbing all day, which is not the favorable current on N winds at Windy Cove.

No, got stuck doing housework. I got a voicemail from a a windsurfing buddy who said it was great, water was very cold, but the wind was good, not overly gusty.

Not much chance that a windsurfer would get killed launching at Windy Cove, though. I helped some folks land their kites there on a downwinder, and the launch was sketchy -- and that was before this last round of flood debris.
