Re: Carbon Fiber Board Repair Help

If the board uses EPS foam, DO NOT USE polyester resin! Use epoxy resin. If it was my board, I would: 1) Rinse the damaged area with fresh water to try to remove all salt debris. 2) Dry the board with the hole pointing down (drys faster in the summer). You can attach a pump to the area to speed up d...

Re: Free Water Safety Fair US Coast Guard Sat May 18th 10-1

I wear a waist harness. I presently use a two part solution: A) This is the solution that I use by Promotion: http://www.wetsuit.com/2New_Buoyancy_and_Impact_Vests.html B) In addition, I now wear a surf brand wake vest. With two of them, I think I am at the coast guard approved bouyancy level for fl...

The new high resolution webcam is installed. MJ0_ Thank you to all that donated.
I am hopeful that we can get a local wind sensor installed here too.

Re: ob-kc

I am not, Hugh. I was just sharing the information with the forum. I got a private message from windfind, "Hi Hugh, First, I want to thank your for maintaining your cam and weather station through the years. (We are very familiar with the difficulty of maintaining such sensors in hostile environment...

Re: Foil Board Tweaking

I would remove your straps until you get the board and foil placement the way you like it. 1) Then try like Sonny said and try to move your rear foot back to get more leverage/pressure. 2) Try to move your front foot back to relieve pressure on your rear foot. 3) Gradually move your foil forward to ...

Re: Burlingame park state land commision

This would be cool for SUP. MJ0_ The wind there is fine, I've frequently kited north of here, but not much more west. There is a pole (maybe two) that sticks out of the ground west of there at low tide (straight out from cross walk where the golf center and soccer field join). If you go farther nort...

Re: Sliding Harness - Attachment with Carabiner?

things I would keep in mind: 1) if the carabiner ever rotated, so that the pull is perpendicular as it is in the picture, the rating is ~ 1/4 the load. 2) Sand or mud could jam the lock of the carabiner so it may no longer open (but in your picture you still have a quick release chicken loop that yo...

Re: In memory of Jeff (batshitcrazy)

I am very sorry to hear about Jeff's passing, my condolences to all of his friends and family. To those that don't understand the submarine effect, it has to do with being overpowered . I didn't see the incident, but imagine that the kite was rotating in the power zone. It is similar to doing a kite...
