Hi Preston,
I just saw your thread about snowkiting. Hope Valley and Grass Lake are two areas I went this last winter. I hope we continue next year.

Re: CAUTIOUS ! Early Season: Test your harness knife

What kind of knife was that? Double blade? I tested mine double blade last year at 3rd last year and even though it was rusted, it worked great.

Re: SIMPLE SAFETY MEASURE AT THE UPPER LAUNCH 3rd

What if we setup a dedicated launch area father up the beach? I am not sure if the mud area is very safe for lunch, because it is super slippery, but the area far from the entrance to the upper launch is far enough from the rocks. I stared to launch there and really like more room from the wall. May...

Re: Good time to Check your Harness Hook Knife !

I am so sorry to hear that it was drowning accident. Do we know if he had a vest and/or line tangle? It feels awful, so preventable with so many kiters at Alameda. Time to start discussion about full time spotters and jet rescue at Alameda and 3rd. I would gladly pay annual membership fee to support...

Re: Good time to Check your Harness Hook Knife !

I thought the last accident at Alameda was heart attack related, not tangle. Do we know the details? I have a hook knife, but not sure how functional it is. I also bought a medical scissors, but don’t know where to attach them.

Re: 3rd Ave 2018 Newbie Buddy Group

This is a great idea, our small group from the last year grew to more then a 100 members after Elsa created a WhatsApp group. I suggest to you also create similar WhatsApp group for 3rd Ave or join our group - so much easier to coordinate.

Re: Injury today at 3rd ave

David, one more question for you: did you depower the kite before starting to walk on the mud? This really helps with reducing how much kite pulls and make the walk a little bit easier.
