What's an advance beginner lesson?
Are you learning tricks? Or are you learning to ride upwind?
If you already know how to ride, but can't make it upwind, then an assisted downwinder at Sherman with kiteopia or a lesson with captain John and his boat anywhere on the bay might be your best bet.
Now if you've never been in the water or if your last lesson was 2 years ago and you haven't touch a kite since, you might want to reinvest in kite lessons, on and off the water.
Plenty of schools in the bay area. Since you said east bay, I would definitely recommend Jane and Rebecca at Boardsports in alameda.
Kites: 2020 F-One Bandit: 10m.
Board: 2018 F-One Slice 5'1 Surf/Foil convertible
Harness: Manera Union.
Wetsuit: Manera 5/4 X10D

Boardsports is good if you're trying to stay on the bay end of "East Bay". You can also connect with Nat Lincoln of Edge Kiteboarding at (775) 721-1132 or via email at edgekiteboarding@yahoo.com. Nat should be back (spends the winters teaching in La Ventana) somewhat soon. He does lessons and (assisted) downwinders at Sherman Island all spring and summer.
