Keahi and Kai Lenny were doing these moves in 8 foot waves in the KSP last earlier this week.
I'm not sure why these moves don't count as "freestyle" just because they are done on a surfboard. They are certainly highly technical and require even more skill than tricks done with straps. The placement of the board is critical at every second.
I can't come close to doing any of these moves, but for me the progression involved in riding strapless has been incredibly rewarding, learning how little far you can push your riding without being connected to the board.
